Ron White: Everyman and potential US president?
Ron White is an experienced comic, but he's also one that learned everything he knew from his early life and career. Starting out in the navy with a stint in Vietnam, he has also held positions such as Mexican Pottery Factory Owner. This life experience helped build the fabric of his routines, which largely focused on the gripes and daily trials of the Everyman. This relatable brand of observational humour is what has made him popular with a broad section of the US public. His comedy gigs started back in 1987 when he started in the circuit in the southern USA. From 2000 he toured in the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, a hugely popular group that toured for six years. After this he began performing solo shows, most of which are available on CD or DVD and include Drunk in Public (2003), They Call Me "Tater Salad" (2004), You Can't Fix Stupid (2006), Behavioral Problems (2009) and A Little Unprofessional (2012). The last of which earned him a nomination for Best Comedy Album at the 2014 Grammy Awards. TV appearances have included his own pilot, The Ron White Show as well as acting parts in Kath & Kim, 12 Miles of Bad Road and Reno 911! as well as the movies Horrible Bosses and Sex and the City 2. In 2016 he claimed that he knew the US public better than any of the other candidates for president and ran in the campaign himself, claiming that 'You Can't Fix Stupid!'
