Rickey Smiley's first TV appearances occurring in the nineties and early noughties on cable shows such as BET's Comic View and Def Comedy Jam. Achieving cultish success, his fame soon grew as he landed bigger gigs including Comedy Central Presents. Rickey is ultimately most famous for the prank calls he makes during his radio shows, which began with a stint on the Texan KBFB channel in 2004 and led to the Rickey Smiley Morning Show which is syndicated nationally on local channels. Ricky's prank calls are famous across America and in many of them he impersonates one of his numerous characters such as Bernice Jenkins or Lil Daryl. Smiley's calls have gained so much notoriety many have been released in one of his six prank call albums. Rickey Smiley has many acting credits under his belt too, including a stint on All About the Benjamins, Friday After Next, and his own penned sitcom, The Rickey Smiley Show. His stand-up career has continued alongside his radio and TV gigs and for many, seeing Rickey Live is the pinnacle of the Smiley experience.
