PVRIS background
The PVRIS members are singer Lynn Gunn, guitarist Alex Babinksi and bass guitarist Brian MacDonald. Initially, PVRIS started as a five-piece metalcore band under the name Operation Guillotine. However, while in the studio making songs for Operation Guillotine, Gunn, Babinksi and MacDonald came to a realisation that they wanted to create music based on instinct, rather than what was expected. As Lynn Gunn said 'It occurred to us that we should just make whatever we want and not worry about fitting in ... our vision was whatever we felt like doing. It was about making what we felt like making in the moment'. And voila, PVRIS was born. Originally performing under the name Paris, the group had to change their name to PVRIS (still pronounced Paris) for legal reasons.
The band released their first EP PVRIS in 2013, this was immediately caught the attention of many people and, the same year, PVRIS performed on the Warped Tour for the first time. November 2014 saw the release of the first PVRIS album White Noise. The group's new album All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell (2017) has been earning the band rave reviews from fans and critics and comparisons to the likes of Florence & The Machine, CHVRCHES, and the Cure!
