Papa Roach background
Papa Roach emerged from California during the early 1990s. The Papa Roach band members are Coby Dick, Jerry Horton, Dave Buckner and Tobin Esperance. The group released their debut album Old Friends From Young Years in 1997 but did not reach mainstream success until their major label debut in 2000. Their debut album, Infest, gave way to the evergreen teen angst anthem, "Last Resort." Infest went triple-platinum and ensured that Papa Roach were to become one of the most popular hard rock acts of the new millennium. The album also featured the song "Dead Cell," which has appeared in the soundtrack of multiple video games and films. The band released multiple subsequent songs that helped ensure their presence in the mainstream. The song "Scars" has appeared in various films and Papa Roach's song "... To Be Loved" was used as the WWE's television anthem for three years. The band has been twice nominated for a Grammy Award and received a nomination for Best New Artist at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards Since this initial burst of success the band have released eight albums, each pushing their sound forward, incorporating new musical styles, and shedding the rap skills that defined their earlier releases.
