The Steph Curry-inspired Golden State Warriors emerged victorious, dominating Le Bron James' Cavaliers 4-0. What will the 2019 NBA Finals have in store? NBA Finals format
This basketball game is played between the winners of the Western and Eastern Conference Finals, which are played every year in the United States. Last year, the two winners were the Cavaliers and the Warriors who both dominated their respective divisions. Unlike the NFL's Super Bowl which is a one-off match, the NBA Finals consists of a best-of-seven series. The format, currently, is a 2-2-1-1-1, which means that the first two games will be played at the home stadium of the higher seeded team and the next two at the home stadium of the second team. If there is no winner after the first four games, the matches switch home stadium until one of the teams has won four of the games.
The Boston Celtics are the most successful team in the NBA Finals with 17 victories from 21 appearances. The LA Lakers, home to legendary players like Magic Johnson and Kobe Bryant, have made 31 appearances but only won 16 of them. However, they are way ahead of any other side in terms of appearances. In the 1990s, the Michael Jordan-inspired Chicago Bulls dominated the finals, while the 2000s were dominated by the Lakers and San Antonio Spurs. Currently, the Warriors and Cavaliers are dominating. However, no-one expects this to last forever. Excitement doesn't get any better than this, buy your Finals tickets today and get your seat for the best NBA matches available.
