An incredible history
Formed in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1994, the original Jimmy Eat World line-up consisted of frontman Jim Adkins, Tom Linton on guitar, Zach Lind behind the drums and Mitch Porter on the bass. Inspired by the likes of The Velvet Underground, The Jesus and Mary Chain and Rocket from the Crypt, the quartet began performing on their hometown’s live circuit before signing with Capitol Records in 1995. After Rick Burch replaced Porter, the group dropped their major label debut album "Static Prevails" a year later, with follow-up "Clarity" arriving in 1999. The four-piece achieved their commercial breakthrough in 2001 with "Bleed America", a potent blend of power pop, punk and emo-rock, which spawned the U.S. No.5 single, "The Middle". Jimmy Eat World then scored their first Top 10 album on the Billboard charts with 2004’s "Futures", repeating the feat three years later with "Chase This Light". The band have continued to maintain a loyal fan base ever since, adding to their discography in the 2010s with the likes of "Damage", "Integrity Blues" and "Surviving".
