The self-dubbed German Comedy Ambassador in the UK is fast becoming one of the UK's most famous headline comedy acts. His dry wit, observational social comedy and comparisons between British and German culture have led to much critical reception and many TV appearances. Henning Wehn tickets are available for his latest 2018 UK stand-up show, which is selling out fast for venues all over the country.
Comedy Career
Having moved to the UK in 2002 to work for Wycombe Wanderers, Wehn decided to try his hand at comedy in 2003 at an open mic night. He's never looked back as the last 13 years have seen his career catapult to national stardom. For many years he served as a warm-up act to bigger names such as Stewart Lee. In 2005 he won the Hackney Empire New Act of the Year Award.
Several years later, Wehn appeared with fellow German Otto Kuhnle in their show 1000 Years of German Humour which was nominated for a Barry Award at the Melbourne Comedy Festival. A regular on TV panel shows, Wehn has appeared on Would I Lie to You, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Room 101, Have I Got News For You and 8 Out of 10 Cats. He has also been a regular on Radio shows Fighting Talk and The Unbelievable Truth. Further TV credits include BBC2's Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice, Dave's Road to Rio, a travelogue presented with Mark Watson and fronting Channel Four's An Immigrant's Guide to Britain.
Latest comedic style
Wehn has made a name for himself with comedy that focuses mostly on sending up German and British stereotypes and letting audiences enjoy the interplay between the two cultures. Now more established, his new show doesn't just poke fun at himself and his new home, but allows Wehn to explore many more social and political narratives. Although he considers himself one the UK's most important social commentators, he accepts that most people in Britain simply think of him as "that German bloke". This comedy ambassador's brilliant new show is selling out fast, so be sure to secure your Henning Wehn tickets today at StubHub.
