A musical genius
Music runs through the veins of this artist! Even though his solo career started only at the age of forty, his path was set for music very early on. Already during his teen years, Clinton formed a doo-wop group called The Parliaments which was heavily inspired by Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers. In the 1960s he was a staff songwriter for the renowned Motown Record Label while still working on a career with his band. Only in the 1970s, a breakthrough came round for him and the now-called Parliament and Funkadelic took off. It was a combination of two of Clinton’s bands (because one band can never be enough for such a music genius) and with their new sound that combined elements of big musicians like Jimi Hendrix or James rown as well as new technology and sounds, the collective was the founder of P-Funk. As if creating a new music style wasn’t enough already, Clinton ventured out even more and began going solo in the early 1980s. His single "Loopzilla", released in 1982, hit the top 20 RnB charts, as well as "Atomic Dog", which reached number 1. It is therefore no wonder that big hit bands like the Red Hot Chili Peppers asked for his advice and Clinton worked with them on their album "Freaky Styley". Not much more persuasion should be needed to convince anybody that this singer, songwriter and record producer is a must to see live on stage.
