Tulsa Roughnecks FC is an American professional men's football team based in Oklahoma. Coming into life in 2013, The Roughnecks started competing in the United Soccer League from the 2015 season. The team play home matches at ONEOK Field and shares the 7,833 capacity stadium with the minor league baseball franchise Tulsa Drillers.
Despite its short life, The Roughnecks have developed a passionate and loyal fanbase with a number of supporters groups emerging. The Roughnecks have also developed an on the pitch rivalry with the Oklahoma City Energy, geographic rivals as both teams play in Oklahoma resulting in the Black Gold Derby. The supporters groups of both teams also established a trophy to accompany the game adding extra spice to an already hotly contested series of matches.

In 2015, the Tulsa Roughnecks joined the USL as an expansion side, alongside fledgeling clubs the Austin Aztex, Colorado Springs Switchbacks and Saint Louis. The season started with a draw to local rivals Oklahoma City Energy FC and the Roughnecks had a solid debut season gaining 11 wins and 39 points, finishing just outside the playoff places in 7th.
The 2016 season saw the USL expand to 29 teams and the Western Conference grow to 15 sides, the Roughnecks found their second season tough going, picking up just five wins all season and finishing bottom of the table. The 30 Roughnecks games featured a whopping 89 goals and made great viewing for the neutral. The team also lost out against local rivals the Oklahoma City Energy losing all four games in the league.
