Dara O Briain background information
Dara O Briain's stand up career began in the late '90s, following two years as a team captain on the topical panel show Don't Feed the Gondolas (1998 - 2000). He became a regular at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and made a notable appearance at the 2012 Just for Laughs festival in Montreal, at which he was offered a prestigious gala show. Building on his success, Dara O Briain's 2005 Edinburgh Fringe show was the biggest selling of the entire festival that year. He has since toured all over the world, performing across Asia Europe, Australia and North America, with several tours on home turf in the UK and Ireland.
Dara O Brian's Big Achievements
Dara is well known for his television work as well as his witty, observational stand up. In 2002, he made appearances in Channel 5's Bring Me the Head of Light Entertainment and Never Mind the Buzzcocks, going on to make his first appearance in Have I Got News For You in 2003. Dara's career continues to blossom with a vast array of panel shows and documentaries, including the notoriously popular Mock the Week and his travel documentary with best friend and fellow comedian Ed Byrne, Dara and Ed's Great Big Adventure. In addition to his stand up and television success, he has also been published in The Sunday Times and The Daily Telegraph as an extensive newspaper columnist, and in 2009 released his first book, Tickling the English.
