All about the comedian
Born in North-East England in 1986 Chris Ramsey is married to actress and musician Rosie Winter. The North-East was also the setting for the sitcom Hebburn in which he played the ambitious Jack centred around family life. Prior to this he first gained acclaim when nominated student comedian of the year in 2008 before heading to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with his solo show Aggrophobic.
In 2015 Chris Ramsey followed in the footsteps of many emerging comedians before him by appearing on the Royal Variety Performance, on a bill that included Elton John, Kylie Minogue and One Direction. It has certainly been a rapid rise, one that buyers of Chris Ramsey tickets can get to experience themselves. More recently he has been given his own show on Comedy Central set in his basement where he and his celebrity guests engage in a series of challenges.
In The Headlines
In 2016 while staying in a hotel before appearing at the Lyric Theatre, Chris Ramsey was arrested in his room in the early hours while still in his underpants. Forced against the wall and placed in handcuffs he had been misidentified by hotel staff for someone who had threatened staff with a knife earlier in the evening. He relayed the incident at the time in a series of tweets before suggesting that it could figure in his future stand up routine. Who needs inspiration to write when such incidents land before you!
An energetic stage presence, Chris Ramsey returned to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2011 to some acclaim. His show Offermation was nominated for the prestigious Fosters Comedy award, cementing his status as an emerging comedy name. Now a father, he will have further life experiences to bring to his routine to be delivered in his upbeat manner. Nothing beats a good laugh, so grab those Chris Ramsey tickets at StubHub, head off to the show and enjoy an evening of comedy.
