Ben Howard background
There’s no doubt that this generation is chock full of “heart-on-their-sleeve” singer-songwriters, however, Ben Howard certainly stands as one of the best currently out there! Hailing from the county of Devon in south-west England, Howard actually began writing songs at the tender age of eleven, saying that he learned guitar as a kid to help put words together and “make stuff up”. Despite playing a multitude of instruments, it was his love of the guitar that Howard began to focus on. While attending the University College of Falmouth to study Journalism, Howard dropped out of the course to pursue a career in music, a decision he has never regretted.
In 2011, Ben Howard released his debut album Every Kingdom and it proved to be a huge success. The album was nominated for the 2012 Mercury Prize (missing out to Alt-J's album An Awesome Wave) and won him two Brit Awards for British Breakthrough Act and British Solo Male Artist.
After such unprecedented success, there was much anticipation for the sophomore Ben Howard album. Thankfully, I Forget Where We Were did not disappoint. The album debuted at number one in the UK and, after taking a more electric approach than his debut album, received positive reviews and strong sales worldwide.
Now, with the release date of the new Ben Howard album Noonday Dream set for June 2018, Ben Howard is back on tour and doing what he does best, playing his best songs to his fans across the world.
